REFUND POLICY
How free trials, billing, cancellations and refunds work.
CONTENTS
This Refund Policy explains how billing, free trials, cancellations, and refunds work for Throw, operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we”, “us”, “our”). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
01Free trial — 30 days
When you sign up for a paid plan you receive a 30-day free trial. During the trial:
- you are not charged anything;
- you have full access to the features of your chosen plan;
- you may cancel at any time, for any reason, with no obligation;
- if you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid monthly subscription and your stored payment method will be charged the then-current price.
We will only charge you at the end of the trial. We do not provide a second free trial if you cancel and re-subscribe later.
02Subscription terms — monthly rolling, no contract
After the free trial, your subscription is monthly rolling. There is no minimum term and no fixed-length contract.
- Billing cycle: each paid month begins on the day your trial ends (or, for re-subscribers, the day you re-subscribe) and renews automatically every month on the same day.
- Price: the current monthly price is [MONTHLY PRICE, e.g. £X.XX / €X.XX], exclusive of any applicable VAT or sales tax. We will notify you in advance of any price changes.
- Cancel any time: you can cancel at any time before your next renewal. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current paid month and are not charged again.
- No long-term contract: there is no fixed-term commitment. You are only ever paying for the current month.
03How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time by:
- using the “Cancel subscription” option in your Throw account settings; or
- opening the Stripe billing portal from your account; or
- emailing us at billing@treblo.co.uk with the email address linked to your account.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features until that date, after which your account will revert to the free tier.
04Refunds — general rule
Because cancellation always takes effect at the end of the current monthly cycle and there is no contractual lock-in, we do not generally issue refunds for the current or past months once a payment has been taken. The fee paid covers the full month, regardless of how often you use the Service during that month.
We will, however, issue refunds in the circumstances described in sections 5 and 6.
05EU / UK statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer based in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of entering into it, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and, in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If you are charged for your first paid month and you are a consumer who has not yet expressly waived this right, you may still withdraw within 14 days of the first charge. To do so, email billing@treblo.co.uk stating that you wish to withdraw, including the email address on your account. We will refund the most recent payment within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method.
Note: where you actively use the Service during the withdrawal period, we may, in line with the relevant directive and regulations, deduct a proportionate amount for the part of the Service already supplied.
This statutory right does not apply to business customers.
06Discretionary refunds
Outside the cases above, we may, at our discretion, issue a full or partial refund where:
- there has been a serious technical issue or extended outage that prevented you from using the Service for a significant part of the month;
- you were charged in error (for example, after a properly submitted cancellation);
- a duplicate or unauthorised charge has been made on your account;
- local consumer protection law requires us to do so.
To request a discretionary refund, email billing@treblo.co.uk within 30 days of the charge, including:
- the email address on your Throw account;
- the date and amount of the charge;
- a brief description of the issue.
We aim to respond within 5 business days.
07What is not refundable
- Past months on a rolling subscription: if you forget to cancel, fees for completed months are not normally refundable.
- Partial-month refunds: we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months when you cancel mid-cycle. You retain access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Set-up assistance or custom work: any one-off services we agree separately are non-refundable once delivered.
08How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned via the original payment method through Stripe. Once we have issued the refund, it typically appears in your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We are not responsible for delays caused by your payment provider.
09Chargebacks
Please contact us at billing@treblo.co.uk before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We are usually able to resolve billing issues quickly. Initiating a chargeback for a charge that is in line with this Policy may result in your account being suspended pending review.
10Changes to this Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers in advance by email or through the Service.
